Training

Our training centres on Appreciative Inquiry, Person Centred Thinking and Planning, and Supervision. Apart from the theoretical aspects we ensure that we focus on the practical application of the principles we are promoting. This involves interactive workshops based on real life case studies and integrating this with application within the workplace.

We have been providing AI training to organisations for the last 4 years, this has included NLIAH (National Leadership and Innovation Agency for Health), Public Health Wales, National Museums of Wales, FE Principals, Social Services, HR departments and others.

We are currently developing an AI Champions Programme to extend the learning and sustainability of the AI process. This will include the ongoing use of Action Learning Sets and Learning Workshops across organisations to develop a Community of Practice.

We have written guidance on Person Centred Planning for the Care Council for Wales and delivered bespoke training based on this.

Our recent work (2012/13) with Prospects for Young People involved training staff across 11 children’s homes and the development of an innovative PCP Champions Programme. This work won a Care Council for Wales Accolade for ‘Excellent Outcomes in the Care of Younger People, Children and Early Years’.

Currently we are developing a new Strength Based Supervision training programme with our partners at Appreciating People. This will take the best from current guidance and incorporate elements of Strength / Asset Based thinking.

This programme will aim to engage workers much more effectively in the supervision process by fully acknowledging what is working well (and why) within their own practice and field of work. These elements will then be used as foundation stones to move forwards and develop practice.
