Training group building paper towerWe provide a range of training programmes, either as standard modules or specifically designed to meet the needs of the client.

All training has an action learning element - i.e. it involves participants as fully as possible. Uniquely we also introduce work based activity wherever possible to enable participants to put ideas into action.

Some examples of the training we provide includes:

  • Developing Internal Evaluation System - A review of systems of self assessment across the care and education sectors. This includes the participants developing a self evaluation framework and undertaking an actual evaluation of their service.
  • Care Standards Training - Reviewing the care standards and the underpinning legislation. An in depth look at the NMS and their implications.
  • Listening skills - The precursor to the provision of any service or response to a customer request is effective listening skills. It is also a critical management skill, and an area that many managers underestimate. We provide training days ranging from one to four days that involve theory and practical exercise.
  • Person Centred Planning - Service users are often not effectively involved in the planning process. This is due to a range of issues including staff training, systems, and advocacy support. Our training focuses on providing practical approaches which result in an inclusive process.
  • Responding to complaints - responding in a prompt and effective manner to complaints not only makes good sense, it makes good business. We can assist an organisation to fully develop their systems into a positive working tool. In addition, we can deliver focused staff training that ensures staff understand what a complaint is and how to respond appropriately.
  • Developing an effective information management system - In addition to helping clients develop systems, we can provide training for key managers and staff in order to determine their needs and strategies. Significant sums of money are wasted every year on databases that do not deliver. Often very basic factors are overlooked or underestimated. We can assist organisations to understand the pitfalls, and minimise the possibility of inappropriate systems being developed or purchased.

Very informative and thought provoking. Can use information given straight away to improve the service to clients.

I though the course was informative. As I have only been at the school for 2 months it gave me an insight on care plans for the students. It is nice to know that their wishes and aspirations are taken into account. That the staff can be a voice for the children as their advocate, and be taken seriously.

Have achieved a better understanding of the standards especially complaints and supervision. A better way of working to familiarise yourself with the standards rather than reading them, more enjoyable and easier to remember.

This day was extremely valuable. It has exceeded my expectations of the day. It has made me feel more comfortable about CSIW inspections and what I need to be doing for others and myself. Great, would recommend this day to others.

I have enjoyed this course today, everything has been explained clearly and simply. It was a very warm atmosphere in the room.

Enjoyed the informal atmosphere and the opportunity to take part in the discussion. Also found it useful to be able to talk about personal scenarios and these into the standards.
